The Mind Museum

The Mind Museum is the first-world-class home for science in the Philippines that was opened its doors the public way back March 16, 2012. The Mind Museum’s mission is to provide an extraordinary educational experience that inspires the public to understand nature.

The Mind Museum features 250 interactive exhibits through five interconnected stories. For you to have fun and enjoy while also gaining knowledge, here are a list of the galleries that you must visit when you come to The Mind Museum.

 

Atom Gallery: The Strange World of the Very Small

The Atom Gallery is the gallery with the most number of interactive exhibits. It contains the very elemental forces that are so familiar that we take them for granted like gravity and electromagnetism. It also presents the counter-intuitive quantum world that resembles nothing in everyday experience, yet serves as the basis for much of the technology of today.

 

Life Gallery: The Exuberant Varieties of Life

The Life Gallery showcases the exuberance of a living planet in all its forms. It features the various habitats and the astonishing number and variety of organisms that thrive on our planet.

 

Earth Gallery: Nature Across the Breadth of Time 

The Earth Gallery features the first permanent T. Rex exhibit in the country along with other unique exhibits that focus on the forces at work in shaping and reshaping the Earth.

 

Universe Gallery: The Beginning and Majesty of the Cosmos

The Universe Gallery showcases humankind’s wondrous fascination with outer space. It features exhibits that show how all of life, as we know it, found its atomic beginnings in the stars. It enfolds visitors in the fundamental elements at play in the cosmos.

 

Technology Gallery: The Showcase of Human Ingenuity

The Technology Gallery is the largest of all the galleries. It is the only exhibition space on the second level, overlooking the other four galleries. This gallery presents technology not as a mere tool, gadget or industrial advancement but as means to flesh out human values and to help us become better humans.
The gallery is divided into five major themes with each theme occupying a Node. The themes of the Nodes are: How We Live, Who We Are, How We Know, How Things Work, and Here to There.

Travelling and Special Exhibitions

Aside from these galleries, The Mind Museum also features travelling and special exhibitions for an even more awesome and unforgettable experience at the museum.
Space Adventure
Blast off on an out-of-this-world adventure in the museum’s latest travelling exhibition. Journey around our cosmic neighborhood and imagine living on a Mars space station.

 Dino Play

Dig deeper into the  story of dinosaurs with this interactive exhibition on creatures who roamed the Earth 230 million years ago.

 

Science Circus

The enchantment and marvel of the big top is brought to life in this three-ring exhibition of amazing illusions, puzzles, and brain teasers.

 

Forever Lab

Find out about the science of longevity in this journey through cultural symbols and scientific studies. The exhibit separates truth from myth and highlights both global and personal perspectives on longevity.

 

A Glass of the Sea

Experience the astounding marine beauty found in the Verde Island Passage in Batangas through an immersive and interactive exhibit of this stunning underwater paradise.

Paoay Sand Dunes

Enjoy a ride with a dune buggy or a 4×4 sand cruiser and tear up and down the sandy hills for a thrilling ride. From the top, you can absorb some attractive views of the water and look out onto the diverse landscape with the sand dunes bleeding into grasslands like a painting. Also at the dunes is the opportunity to learn how to sand board. It’s just like surfing or snowboarding but on sand. The teachers will give you a mini lesson and then set you on your own to play around.

Sinking Bell Tower

Base on the research, this bell tower is literally sinking! The Sinking Bell Tower has be drifting further and further into the earth ever since. Despite its disappearing act, this weathered monument still rings it’s bell every Sunday for mass.

Pagudpud Beach

Take a day trip to nearby Pagupud to spend the afternoon on the most beautiful beach in the Laoag area. This is a body of water that is so pure that it practically glows! The landscape is unique with white sand, small mangrove trees, and peculiar coral islands that pop up out of nowhere. The beach has lots of little restaurants where you can have a bite to eat with a cold beer. There is also a volleyball net and plenty of shade when you need a break from the sun.
